Hungary With 19 Total Medals Including 5 Gold Through Night 5 Of European Championships

2024 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Hungary continues to lead the medal table after taking over on night 4. Tonight they added two medals to their tally and now have five total. Vivien Jackl won the final individual event of the night taking the 1500 free in a 16:06.37 to win by about nine seconds. Hungary also won the mixed 4×100 freestyle relay, marking their 2nd relay win of the meet as the women also won the 4×100 free relay.

Greece also sits near the top of the medal table and added three more medals tonight, including gold and bronze in the men’s 50 back as  Apostolos Christou won and Evangelos Makrygiannis took 3rd.

Roos Vanotterdijk of Belgium picked up the country’s first gold medal as she won the women’s 100 butterfly in a new national record time of a 57.47. She looks to win gold once again tomorrow as she heads into the final of the women’s 100 back as the top seed.

Czechia passed Israel on the medal table after Kristyna Horska won gold in the women’s 200 breaststroke in a new national record
