The 2025 Danish Championships are nearly upon us, with action kicking off tomorrow, Thursday, July 10th from Aarhus.
A host of domestic talent will descend upon the long course pool, including junior Martine Damborg who just concluded a successful campaign at the 2025 European Junior Championships.
In Slovakia, 18-year-old Damborg racked up 4 individual medals, including gold in the girls’ 50m freestyle and 100m fly as well as silvers in the 50m back and 50m fly.
These 4-day Danish Championships represent an opportunity for the nation’s swimmers to qualify for the 2025 European Short Course Championships on the calendar for December in Poland.
Said Thomas Stub, national team manager, “The Danish Championships are always something special for swimmers, coaches and clubs with both honor, medals and titles at stake.
“This year’s Danish Championships are no exception, and most of the sport’s strongest junior and senior swimmers are at the start.
“Several have already been in action at the European Championships U23, European Championships Junior or National Championships Junior, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they swim strongly in Aarhus. I expect that many others will do the same, as the Danish Championships are the season’s top event, so it will be worth watching to watch the battle for the medals.”
Key entries for this week include:
Julie Kepp Jensen
Martine Damborg
Alexander Cohoon (GBR)
Casper Puggaard
Jonas Gauer
Helena Rosendal-Bach
Alexander Norgaard
